Synthesis, Characterization and Chelation Behavior to Lanthanides Cations of New Metal Free PhthalocyaninesBearing Coumarins Deriva-tive

Novel tetrasubstituted metal-free phthalocyaninesweresynthesized by the cyclotetramerization reac-tion ofthe phthalonitrile derivatives.The new compoundwere characterized by a combination of IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, UVVis, Elemental analysisand MS spectra data.The complexation properties of the new metal-free phthalocyaninestowards lanthanides cations have been investigated in Dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO) by means of UV spectrophotometry absorption and conductivity. The stoichiometries of complexes formedareML or M2L in some cases. Therefore, the stability profile of mononuclear complexes11-12formed illustratesa little selectivity of PcH211towards Y3+and of PcH212towardsGd3+.
